Nevisense Platform

Discover the power of early skin diagnostics
Nevisense is SciBase’s flagship platform for advanced skin diagnostics and research. Combining Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) with AI-powered analysis, Nevisense enables clinicians and researchers to uncover what’s happening below the surface of the skin – delivering objective insights that support early detection, accurate assessment and better outcomes.

How it works: EIS meets AI

Nevisense measures the skin's electrical properties using EIS. A safe electrical signal is applied via a single-use electrode, capturing the skin’s response across different depths and frequencies. These data points are then analyzed using embedded AI algorithms to identify deviations in cellular structure and orientation – helping detect skin cancer or assess skin barrier function. This non-invasive method provides objective support to clinical decisions, increasing diagnostic confidence and reducing unnecessary procedures.

The Nevisense method

  1. Electrical impedance is measured in the lesion by applying Nevisense onto the skin surface.
  2. Nevisense transmits small imperceptible electrical signals. 700 data points are collected through the skin tissue.
  3. The measurement reflects the underlying cellular properties.

Applications: From cancer detection to skin barrier research

Nevisense is CE-marked and FDA-approved for clinical use in melanoma detection, and also supports identification of keratinocyte cancers like BCC and SCC. Beyond cancer, it is increasingly used in dermatological research:
  • Melanoma detection: High sensitivity tool to differentiate between benign and malignant lesions.
  • Non-melanoma skin cancer: Supports detection of keratinocyte cancers.
  • Skin barrier assessment: Valuable for atopic dermatitis, eczema and other skin conditions.
  • Cosmetic testing: Quantify effects of skincare products on the skin barrier.

Built for the clinic: Fast, safe, point-of-care ready

Nevisense is designed for use in everyday clinical settings. The measurement process takes just minutes, requires minimal training, and delivers instant results on screen – helping guide decisions in real time. In research, the data can be exported for deeper analysis, documentation or longitudinal tracking. With a compact form factor, portable probe and easy-to-use interface, Nevisense integrates smoothly into clinical practice and research environments alike.
